OP is totally right. I was gonna start a thread on this but never got round to it.
Nerfing thumperway will not be at all easy, especially with the new chapter coming out with all these l33t new buffs for thumperway (no, not Dervishes).
I say get rid of champ title altogether.
GvGs have the potential to get me really happy and really sad...
PS: Someone at ANet, please make a random unrated button please! I don't like tanking other people ratings whilst practicing in my smurf...

I think the issue with this is that most of the fights in unrated would be against henchway and pallyway. Hardly the basis for any kind of serious test

Make it so that no henchies can be on the team for Random unrated... problem solved.

How long until we see top guilds getting standard players to pay for a flashy new Championship title that none of their friends have?

A "top" guild would never do that.

We have already seen top 16 guilds selling invitations before they disband. What's to stop them making the most of thier rating before they disband? I'm not saying that a guild with a high rank and reputation would do it while they are still going strong, but possibly some would do it when the guild is dieing.

Because there's a massive difference between a flashy cape trim, a flashy tombs emote, and a plain gvg title, and half the people posting in this topic are retarded for not understanding that.

there's more to being a true top team than just finishing high on the ladder...

Of course, and i'm sorry if I implied that there wasn't.. but it's only the guilds with very high rank that have enough rating to add points to the chamionship title.

if that happened, i would be incredibly saddened.
i am about to leave HA for the same reason, and was hoping to get into regular GvG, but if the same followed me there, ide have nothing to do but RA for PvP
i feel that this title should be removed, since your guilds rank should be enough to show that you have skill in GvG, and mabye make titles for being at certain ranks on the ladder, like 249-200 has one title, and 199-150 has a nother title.
i dunno, i just think that that would be alot better as the title would be guild based, not individually based.
